New England Foundation for Psychoanalysis

Mission of the Foundation

The Foundation has a broad mission to use psychoanalytic knowledge to benefit the community. We encourage and support any effort to meet that goal. More specifically, we:

  • Encourage the integration of psychoanalytic knowledge with other areas of study concerned with human behavior
  • Foster communication between psychoanalysts and members of other academic disciplines
  • Develop relationships with universities and other educational institutions
  • Support research and training in psychoanalytic theories and treatment
  • Raise, manage and distribute funds for programs that serve these purposes

In the past we have worked with school principals, judges, and clergy to provide support and to help these professionals become more effective in meeting the complex needs of the community.
